Office 2016 for Mac with the latest updates installed (15.18 (160109)) We try to set up Outlook 2016 to connect to the end user's Exchange Mailbox. When adding the account Autodiscover populates the server info just fine. The server name shows up correctly , Use SSL is checked, and it populates the correct directory server information. We set her account settings to connect using username and password, but the account status icon still shows up orange and we are constantly prompted to 'Select a Kerberos ID or create a new one'. I cannot figure out why it's prompting for Kerberos even though that option is not selected in the account settings. Has anyone else run across this?
Is this a situation where they need to upgrade to El Capitan? I'd be surprised if Yosemite was the culprit; I had Office 2016 working perfectly for weeks on Yosemite before upgrading to El Capitan recently. As a result, I'd do three things before upgrading: 1) Locate a Mac running El Capitan and try setting it up in the same way as the Mac in question was set up. Do the results differ? 2) Review the server settings and verify that Kerberos is not enabled or being made a default of some kind. 3) Remove the account on the Mac, followed by adding it back.
If it still fails and El Capitan succeeded, then upgrading is probably recommended.
